How to motivate yourself in your life

I consider myself lucky because I know the life I want to live, and the kind of life I want to wake up to on a daily basis. I look at different neighborhoods as a way of reminding myself what is possible if I work a little harder.

I have a list of everything I want to achieve in life, and this has become my daily motivation. Every minute when I feel less motivated, all I need to do is look at that list, and visualize the fulfillment my dreams.

Unfortunately, most people have no idea of what kind of life they want to live, and everything they want to accomplish. As a result, most people just exist from day to day, paycheck to paycheck. They lack the drive because they have no set goals, and no plans to motivate them.

I believe in the power of putting things down on paper! Having our dreams written down brings them closer than when they are just in our mind. In fact, I love having them on a sticky note right beside my bed. That way, there is no way of missing them.

They will be staring at me as I slide into my bed at night, and on days when I am feeling a little lazy, wishing for one more hour of sleep, that little piece of paper pushes me out of the bed, and I feel motivated to get the day started.

I once reflected on what my life would be like, if I had everything I wanted. Then it hit me! There will not be a day when I have everything I wanted, because my standards will keep changing as I achieve more.

Just in case you think that setting new goals and working harder to achieve more, is all about money, let me assure you, although we need money to live, there comes a point in life when money becomes secondary. Never forget your fellow man that is less fortunate than you are.
